Ms. Grigsby has a proven 15 year tract record, serving as Creative Director of Sean John Brand Imaging & Advertising and Bad Boy Entertainment, Senior Art Director of Island Def Jam Music Group, and Graphic Designer for L'Oreal, Phat Fashions, Columbia House, and Motown Records, amongst others.
Ms. Grigsby is a self-starter who embodies the meaning of an entrepreneur. She managed 1 of her mother's 3 beauty salons and modeled professionally from ages 14-17. During this time, the ambitious Grigsby also worked in retail shops and as a hostess at major clubs in New York City. Ms.Grigsby left the glamorous world of modeling, to pursue a BFA in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design. Grigsby was singled out from her program and invited to attend a marketing class at the prestigious Columbia University Business school, where her team of marketing students and product designer won a competition to create, market and advertise a product for Hermes. Not only did her team win the competition, Hermes Board of Directors flew in to the U.S to negotiate the purchase of the product.
With an impressive and eclectic background leading the creative direction of industry leading brands, Akisia Grigsby is uniquely suited to also run Atomic Designs Inc, a full service design firm that provides extraordinary concepts and creative thinking to its clients. The firm balances art, business and pop culture enabling its clients to stand out in the marketplace. She is also the founder of Akzas.com, a Latina Power Network, and partner in Personal Touch Beauty Corp.
Grigsby, who sat on the board of directors of the Upliftment Charity Foundation, still considers being a role model to independent and struggling Latinas as a duty she embraces. The native New Yorker and an active environmentalist, who believes in preservation, resides in a surrounding city with her son.
